In-N-Out Hours Today and Holiday Schedule

In-N-Out runs one of the most consistent schedules in American fast food. The doors open at 10:30 AM seven days a week and the counter closes at 1:00 AM Sunday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday running an extra 30 minutes to 1:30 AM. There is no breakfast service, so 10:30 AM is the earliest the grill is on anywhere in the chain.

The holiday calendar is just as predictable. 3 days a year every restaurant closes completely, and 2 more run shortened hours. The full 2026 table below carries the calculated date and weekday for each one.

The three days the whole chain closes

Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday are the only dates every In-N-Out shuts. The policy goes back to the founding family and has survived the growth from a single Baldwin Park stand in 1948 to more than 400 restaurants across the western United States. No location opts out, and no drive thru runs a skeleton service.

Two more dates get shortened rather than closed. Christmas Eve normally runs 10:30 AM to around 8:00 PM, and New Year Eve tends to close somewhere near 10:00 PM. Those two are the least consistent days on the calendar, because closing depends on how busy the market is rather than on a company instruction.

Lunch and dinner run on the same menu

There is no lunch menu and no dinner menu here. The same three burgers, the same fries and the same three shakes are available from 10:30 AM until close, at the same prices. That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly, because most chains this size run a day part structure with different pricing and different availability.

What does change is the wait. The lunch peak between 11:45 AM and 1:15 PM and the dinner peak between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM are the two points where the drive thru line reaches the street in busy markets. Ordering an off menu build such as a 4x4 or Animal Style fries is faster outside those windows, and the full list sits on the secret menu page.

Drive thru, dining room and late night

The posted closing time is the drive thru time in almost every restaurant. Dining rooms frequently lock 15 to 30 minutes earlier while the lane keeps taking orders, and in a handful of high volume urban locations the dining room closes an hour before the lane does. Anyone arriving after midnight should plan on the car.

Late night trading also varies by region more than any other part of the schedule. Dense California and Nevada markets hold the 1:00 AM and 1:30 AM closes reliably. Newer markets in Texas, Idaho, Utah and Tennessee more often close at midnight, particularly on weeknights. The company store locator carries the posted times for each address and is the only authority on a specific restaurant.

In-N-Out hours questions

What time does In-N-Out open?

Almost every In-N-Out opens at 10:30 AM, seven days a week. The chain does not serve breakfast, so there is no earlier opening on any day of the week and no separate morning menu.

What time does In-N-Out close?

Most restaurants close at 1:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and 1:30 AM on Friday and Saturday. A small number in quieter markets close at midnight, and a few near stadiums or airports run later, so the local listing is the final word.

Is In-N-Out open on Thanksgiving?

No. Every location closes for the full day on Thanksgiving and has done so for decades. Service returns the next morning at the usual 10:30 AM opening, with full Friday hours to 1:30 AM.

Is In-N-Out open on Christmas Day?

No. Christmas Day is one of 3 full closures on the calendar, alongside Thanksgiving and Easter Sunday. Christmas Eve is a reduced day, with most restaurants open from 10:30 AM until around 8:00 PM.

Is In-N-Out open on Easter Sunday?

No. Easter is the third of the three annual closures. The date moves each year and lands in late March or April, and this page recalculates it automatically for the current calendar.

Does In-N-Out serve breakfast?

No. The 10:30 AM opening is the earliest the grill runs and the full menu is available from that minute. There is no breakfast sandwich, no coffee and pastry service and no separate morning price list.

Are the drive thru and the dining room open the same hours?

In most restaurants the dining room closes at the same time as the drive thru, though some lock the doors 15 to 30 minutes early while the drive thru keeps taking orders to the posted close. Late night orders are safer through the drive thru.

Do In-N-Out hours change by state?

The opening time barely moves. Closing time does. Late night trading is longer in dense California and Nevada markets than in newer Texas, Idaho and Tennessee locations, where midnight closes are more common.

Is In-N-Out open on New Year Eve and New Year Day?

New Year Eve is a reduced day and most restaurants close early, often around 10:00 PM. New Year Day is a normal trading day with the standard 10:30 AM opening. There are 2 reduced days on the calendar in total.
